What If I've Never Installed a Windows® Program
Before?
I think that owning and using
this program is so important to all of us, that I've created a pictorial Step-By-Step
installation guide. Click to see the Guide. Just
a few mouse-clicks and you're done. And even if you've never installed anything,
you'll be reading great words in less than 5 minutes. And that's
about 1 minute to do the installation and 4 minutes to wade through all my pictures
on the page. : ) CLICK TO SEE THE GUIDE.

Can I Really Download All The Titles For Free?
Yes, there is no purchase
necessary, EVER. Simply register on my site
and start downloading all the eBook titles you desire.
Top
What format Are The Downloads?
All the files are industry
standard Zipped Text files (.TXT) that you can UnZip and then open with a Word
Processor like Microsoft Word®, or WordPad or Notebook
which are part of your Windows® Operating system.
Top
What About Macintosh?
You can download the Zipped
text files (if you use the PC Zip compatible program), but unfortunately the FREE
CD ROM will not operate on your system.

Are There Really 5000 Titles On The Site And The CD?
There are more than 5000
discrete titles on the CD. 2065 titles are listed in the MAIN Table Of Contents
and the others are grouped under titles such as, selected poems, selections, speeches,
etc. Click to see a sample list in the expanded
table of contents. Plus, many titles are documents such as the U.S. Constitution
or the Code Of Hammurabi. The creators of the CD added up the titles and listed
the 5000 documents or eBooks as they are called today in their total. So, here
at Free Books 5000.com you get 5000 Free eBook titles, which frankly, is 'a ton'
of free pages.

How Do I Personalize The Classics?
It's really easy. Basically
you'll be using your Word Processor to Search and Replace
the people, animals and/or places that you wish to personalize with the
names you choose. The results are really nothing short of incredible. I give you
step-by-step instructions along with hints, tricks and tips to make it all happen.
A link is burned onto the Free CD ROM. Check out
my demo in the 'You Star In The Classics' LINK section of this site.

Why Do I Have To Register?
Well the truth is that this site
cost me a fortune to build. I'm not charging you anything, Nada, Zip. Nothing
at all to use it. But, I run DAK Industries 2000, Inc., the electronics catalog
company. And I figure that if you love literature, you'll love my electronics
catalogs and eMail updates as well. After all I built DAK 1 up to over 4,300,000
DAKonian customers this way.
So, if you'll register
to use the site, or order the Free CD, I'll start sending you my eMail electronic
offerings along with more quizzes, quotations and eBook information. I WILL
NOT SELL, RENT, TRADE or allow anyone to advertise to you except for my DAK Companies.
So, that's the deal. You use this site for free, or
get the CD and I'll hopefully sell you some electronics or some more literary
offerings later. It's a big risk for me because
you may never spend a dime with me, but I think it's a worthwhile gamble because
it's worked for me before and I hope you're going to be so thrilled with what
I give you for free that you'll want to buy something from me too. :)

How Do I Register With You?
It's easy. It's free. And
remember, I won't sell, rent, or trade your name. Just click 'Register'
It's the small link along the top navigation bar of any page on the site, or Click
any of the Newsletter Book Icon Buttons (They're
Dark Blue.) Or, fill in your name in any of the Newsletter Registration Boxes
on the site. There are lots of each. I really do want you to register.
Top
How Do I Sign In?
Well, when you register,
we give you a cookie so that once you're registered you can automatically access
all the restricted parts of the site. But, if you're not using the computer you
used when you registered and you can't access the parts of the site you want,
look at The Top Navigation Bar. At the bottom right of the bar, you'll see the
small link words 'Sign In'. Just click that link, fill
in your eMail and password and you're back in.
Top
What If I Forget My Password?
Well it happens all the time to
me. Just fill in your eMail address where I've shown you to on the 'Sign In' page
and we'll eMail your password to you at the eMail address you used at registration.
If it doesn't work for you, eMail us at PasswordFinder@FreeBooks5000.com
including your eMail address and your name. We'll do our best to get you your
password or assign you a new one.
Top
Can I Cancel/Delete/Update/My Record?
Sure, eMail us at CustomerService@FreeBooks5000.com
with both your old information and your updated information.

How Do I Get A DAK Catalog?
Simple, register or acquire
the CD ROM. You'll get the catalog when we mail them. Plus, If you've registered
for the free Site Access, the eMail Newsletter I send you will advise you of upcoming
catalogs, and, you'll often get first chance to learn about new products.

Why Do I Have To Pay $6.95 If I Order The Free CD?
Well, it's actually a lot
of work (more than you'd think) to download your order, pack up the CD, clear
your Credit Card, and get it shipped to you. The actual costs end up being very
close to the $6.95 I'm charging. Interestingly, there are companies that actually
sell CDs for $6.95, but they don't do all the creation and information work that
I've done on this site or the work I have done and am doing to add to and improve
the CD. My thought is that the more CDs that I can ship for FREE, charging just
the $6.95 for P&H, the more I can spend on the site and improving the CD with
tech notes, more titles and more features. That will attract more DAKonians to
the DAK Newsletter. So, if I didn't charge anything at all to ship the CD, and
I spent the money to input your order, pack your order and ship your order, I
wouldn't be able to 'Finance' getting as many of you onto my list. And after all,
that is why I've put so much effort into this site and the CD. :) I really have
put a ton of time and money into the Free Books 5000.com website and into perfecting
the CD to get it to this point so we can all enjoy it.
Top
Can I Order More Than 1 Copy?
Yes. You can order up to
10 copies of the incredible CD. But, I'm afraid that I still have to charge the
same $6.95 each for shipping. The only way I can pull off this $6.95 deal
is to ship everything the same. So, unless I find a better way, you'll get 10
packages from me if you order 10 CDs. I know it may not seem real smart to do
it this way, but it really is the only way that allows me to prepack and ship
so many, so fast, so cheaply. Hopefully I'll find a way to group shipments and
then I'll revisit the $6.95 each P&H charge.

Hey, I Live In L.A. Why Can't I Pick Up The CD?
The
Free CD is an Internet Special ONLY. Well, you'd think that it would be
cheaper and easier, but it isn't. People cost money. Time is money. (Check my
quotations for that one.) The only way this giveaway works is if no human touches
your order. It's all automated except for the actual packing and shipping. So,
if you come in and we start talking or even if we have to write down your eMail
and physical address it takes forever compared to YOU filling out YOUR own information
on the Internet. In short, YOU do all the work and earn the discount. And
don't forget, the reason I'm giving all this away is to get your name and address
so I can offer you my electronic products in the future. So, if you want the Disc,
I need your name and address so use the Internet Please. We both win.
Top
You Charge $8 Extra For Phone/Mail Orders. WHY?
The Free
CD is an Internet Special ONLY. Yes, I know it sounds odd. But it costs
$7-$8 to take a phone order or open and process a mail order. We have to key in
all your data, double check it and more. It simply costs me MUCH more than the
6.95 P&H I'm charging, Really. So, if you want to order by phone or mail,
we have to charge you $8 for the CD ROM (plus California Sales tax if you live
in California) because it's no longer FREE, plus the $6.95 P&H.
We want to be an Internet company
and we're passing those cost savings on to you when you order over the Internet.
And, you're more likely to feel
comfortable reading and responding to my eMail Newsletters if you are comfortable
shopping on the Internet. And, that's why I built this site. Thank you for your
understanding.
Top
Can I Order If I Live Outside The United States?
No, I'm sorry we don't ship
outside of the United States at this time. However we are checking the possibilities.
Please eMail your request to ForeignOrders@FreeBooks5000.com.
Top
What Is Your Return Policy?
It's simple. Try anything on our
websites or catalogs and evaluate it in your own home for 30 days. Within that
time, if it hasn't met or exceeded every one of your expectations, send it back.
If the product you wish to return was part of a bundle of products that were sold
together, you must return the entire bundle. Just return the product(s) to DAK,
prepaid and insured, in unmarked condition with their original parts, instructions
and the invoice (copies are fine) for a courteous refund. No prior authorization
is required.
Top
What If I Need Technical Support?
There's technical support
information on the CD and shipped with any product you buy from any DAK company.
If you have questions about using the website that aren't answered here, eMail
them to CustomerService@FreeBooks5000.com.

Are The eGreeting Cards Safe To Send And Receive?
Yes.
The Quotation eGreeting Cards are actually personalized web pages that we automatically
create for you from the information you give us on the Free Books 5000.com site.
So, the eCards are actually web pages that your friends can read and therefore
it's just as safe as simply surfing the Net. We do send an eMail informing your
friend where the web page is located. But, there are never any attachments to
the eMail. So, this eCard system is as safe and virus
free as surfing the web for you and your friends.
Top
What if my computer won't play the quizzes and eCards?
Well, I've designed and optimized
the pages to be as Browser friendly as possible. If you're using Internet Explorer
4+ or Netscape Navigator 4+ and you don't have your cookies disabled, you shouldn't
have any problems. If you do, eMail us at CustomerService@FreeBooks5000.com
and we'll try to figure out what's wrong. If you're using something other than
Internet Explorer 4+ or Netscape Navigator 4+, chances are it will work, but if
it doesn't, there's probably not much we can do. But note, we find that you can
usually load one of these 2 browsers on your computer and use it for times when
whatever you are using on the Internet won't work. Finally, you should have no
problem on this site even if you are using 640/480 resolution. However I do see
some problems and limitations using the site with web TV.

I Can't Find THE Quotation I Want.
Well we have thousands of
quotations extracted from the 5000 eBook titles on the site. If you can't find
a quotation it's probably, either, because 1) It isn't in or from one of our titles,
2) The translation/paraphrase you have is slightly different than mine, 3) It
is in our books, but I haven't extracted it and put it on the site yet. Here's
what to do. First, check to make sure that the author is on our Authors list.
Then if you know the title of the work it's from, see if that's on our Titles
list. If the answer is yes to both questions, why not send me an eMail with the
COMPLETE Quotation and any citation that you have and we'll see if we can find
it. (Of course, you could order the CD and find it yourself. :)) We will let you
know. Send me the quotation at MoreQuotesDrew@FreeBooks5000.com.
And Oh yes, be sure to check out the Search Tips on the Quotation page or on the
eCard page. Here's a link searchtips.cfm

How Big Is The CD - And Install - Specs?
You get over 612 MEGABYTES
of great literature on the FREE CD. It's Windows 95/98/ME compatible. And, it
installs with a few clicks. It's remarkably easy. Because of the large database
size and the way it's compressed to fit all 5000 titles on the disc, this program
always requires the disc to be in your CD ROM drive when you wish to access the
massive library. Unfortunately it's not Macintosh compatible. There's a Secret
FAQ guide link you get when you acquire the CD that contains more hints and tricks
to getting extra value, ideas, productivity and enjoyment from using the disc.
