I
looked up, "The right word" and found lots of important quotations,
phrases and ideas I could use. When I tried love, forgiveness and desire I found
that "the wisdom of the ages" comment wasn't trite at all when referring
to the contents of this robust library.
The
276 authors (with over 5000 titles represented on the disc) have truly written
great thoughts about anything you can think of so articulately, that it literally
takes your breath away.

You
see it all. Every search you make returns a screen like this one. You'll see exactly
how many times your search word or phrase has been found and the titles in which
it was found.

All
you have to do is double click the title that you desire, or click the first title
and then FROM WITHIN that title click Next to proceed to the next title. It takes
just seconds to completely explore the response to your search.
In
this example, I found "to be or not to be" in 13 titles. And while some
were indeed quoting Shakespeare, Plato and Aristotle were not. Check out those
titles. I think you'll be glad you did.

Here's
an inside screen from one of the titles hit. As you can see, Aristotle indeed
used "to be or not to be" before Shakespeare.
All you'd have to do is click
Next at the top of the screen to see your next hit. You won't waste time going
back and fourth to search screens trying to find something when you use this powerful
search engine. |
| So, Where Else And How
Many Times Was This Word Used? |
|
 |
So
you're reading a title. In this case, you're reading Twenty Thousand Leagues Under
The Sea. I wanted to see just where Nemo led his men onto the island. It's easy.
Here
I simply double clicked the word Nemo and the search engine automatically identified
how many times Nemo's name appears and exactly where each highlighted occurrence
is. This is called Hypertext.
You simply double click ANY
word in the text and the search engine automatically counts the number of times
that word appears in the text of that title and highlights each occurrence for
you. Wow! This is a great way to find some event in a book. Paper books were never
like this. |

OK,
so now I'm reading Moby Dick. I wanted to see just what Ahab had to say about
whales. It's easy. Double click on any white-space (not on a word) and you get
the search entry screen.

Then
choose to only search this title and you'll find just the word you want. Of course
it's highlighted and you simply click next to move from each occurrence to the
next. What a great way to find the first occurrence of a word.
What a great way to find the
exact spot where a character does something important. Paper books are certainly
good for a straight-through-read, but for finding anything, an eBook with this
search engine is critical.

What
if you want to find a love poem? Or, better yet, write or adapt a love poem for
your wife or sweetheart? (Of course they might be the same.)
Well, you could stare at a blank
computer screen and if you're like me, maybe fight writer's block. Or, you can
search for love poems in the library.
You can select a poem that contains
the exact words that convey your emotion. Or, use the poem as a template or base
for your own efforts.
In the screen above, I've chosen
John Keats to search for the word love. I really like the way he writes. So, he'll
be a good template for me.

Here
are the 126 occurrences of 'love' I found in 24 of Keats's titles. I chose one
of these as a template for my poem. Perhaps you prefer Frost, Browning or Wordsworth.
Ether way, you'll find incredibly
beautiful poems of love and many other subjects to work with. |

I
was listening to the news and I heard that Timothy McVey had copied a famous poem
as his final 'statement'.
I didn't catch the author or
the exact words. But I did hear something like "master of Fate". So
I entered 'Master' AND 'Fate' within 10 words and Clicked Search. |

It's
actually a very powerful moving poem. It's called Invictus. It was written by
William Ernest Henley.
I've reproduced a screen shot
of the entire poem above. What wouldn't be clear unless you had this library complete
with a brief author biography and information about the titles, is that Henley
wrote this brief poem while in a tuberculosis hospital.
So, his use of this powerful collection
of words had a totally different meaning to me than McVey's.

Anyway, almost everyday, I hear a few words of a famous work on the radio or on
TV. Or, I read great words in a book or newspaper.
It's really great to be able
to go right to the source to see the full context in which the words were originally
written.
In this way I feel that I have
a better understanding of the world around me and I think you will too when you
own this incredible electronic library.
